I just wanted to let all of you who generously gave money for my Hungary trip know that there has been a new development. The process of arranging this internship has been really difficult, but I've had such support both here and in Hungary. All of the faculty and staff with the University of Debrecen and the American Corner have been fantastic, helpful, and have been working at least as hard as I have to make this happen. Unfortunately, I just heard on Friday that they are projecting that there will not be a sufficient number of students enrolling in the classes I have offered to teach. As a result, they have opted to cancel the classes. I will not be going to Hungary over Feb. and March.
Happily, I will still be going to Hungary in May, taking a production of the play "Jack", by David Greenspan, and teaching several theatre workshops for the International Festival of Drama in English in Debrecen. I do, however, realize many of you gave money with the understanding I'd be teaching in Debrecen. As this is no longer the case, should you not wish to support my trip in May I will be happy to refund your donation.
Again, I thank you so much for your support. It is so good to know there are those who understand the importance of theatre and of cultural exchange. And it's great to know that with the help of people like you, these sorts of ventures are more than possible. Working together, we can continue to create such opportunities for ourselves and each other.
Thanks so much,
Pete

Donate Money...Wear Pete!!
That's right...I'm on a shirt. $5.18 of every sale goes toward getting me to Hungary. With Christmas right around the corner, it's the perfect gift for the person who has everything.

Thanks for all of your support!!!!!!
Just wanted to say how really grateful I am to those who are supporting me (whether with a dollar, ten dollars, or words of encouragement). Almost half way to my goal of $1,000.00 for this trip. There is no way I could do this without your generosity. I am teaching the courses for free for the university, so any money I raise through this goes toward my plane ticket - whatever is left over will help with food as well as my return trip in May for the International Festival of Drama in English.
Things are moving along. I'm sending my course descriptions to Istvan Racz (temporary head of the English American Studies program) next week. It is confirmed I'll be teaching three classes (Voice, Speech, and Acting). Still working out details with Cal Arts as well.
Once I've raised enough money, I'll purchase my plane ticket. Woo-hoo!
